| dc.description.resumo | Estudo sobre a produção de manta vegetal em uma floresta amazônica de terra firme na Reserva Florestal Walter Egler, próxima a Manaus, com dados coletados em 1963 e 1964. A produção média anual foi de 7,4 t/ha de manta vegetal, composta principalmente por folhas, e apresentou maior deposição durante a estação seca. Foram analisadas as frações de folhas, madeira e frutos quanto aos teores de carbono orgânico e nitrogênio total, estimando-se um retorno anual de aproximadamente 3,8 t/ha de carbono orgânico e 105,6 kg/ha de nitrogênio ao solo. Os resultados indicam produção de manta vegetal e retorno de nitrogênio inferiores aos observados em diversas outras florestas tropicais. | |
